Vacon hosts golf day at Lutterworth

Glorious sunshine was enjoyed by all who took part in the golf day recently organised by Vacon at Lutterworth Golf Club. In all, 24 competitors, comprising Vacon customers, technical partners, business associates and members of the company's own staff, teed off for the 18-hole Stableford Competition.

There could, however, only be one winner and this was Mark Brewin of The Carbon Trust. Runner-up was Noel Dempsey of Electrical Systems & Controls, who had flown in from Ireland for the event, while the prize for longest drive went to Karl Jones of Vacon.

Another home win was scored by Paul Carter of Vacon for nearest the pin, and Nigel Wild of Orchard House Foods won nearest the pin in two.

Stephen Takhar, Vacon's UK Managing Director, says: "We had a fantastic reaction to this event, and I think it is fair to say everyone had a great time. Mark Brewin was a worthy winner!

"Events like this are important. Vacon's staff and business partners are a team working together to achieve the best possible results from our market-leading drive technology. Even so, we rarely have opportunities to meet with one another face to face and to get to know each other. That is exactly what the golf day was about, and it achieved its objectives exceptionally well."

As a result of the success of this first competition, Vacon is now planning for the golf day to become an annual event that it hopes will attract an even larger number of participants in future years.
