Renold Gears has expanded its UK sales team with the addition of two new sales engineers in response to what the company describes as strong demand for its products and services from OEMs, distributors and end users.
Michael Allen has been appointed to the position of sales engineer with responsibility for customers in the South, having previously held the position of key accounts sales engineer for London and the South East with Eriks. Allen brings with him a wealth of engineering experience having started his career as an apprentice with Craven Fawcett. He then worked in both manufacture and design at Highfield Transmissions before joining Brammer as an internal sales engineer for gearboxes. In his spare time he enjoys many sports including rugby and fishing.
Mehul Chotalia, has been appointed to the position of sales engineer with responsibility for customers in the Midlands. He has worked for Renold Gears’ sales department since 2010 as an applications engineer where he quickly progressed to become technical sales team leader responsible for engineering solutions projects.
Originally from India, Chotalia studied at the University of Mumbai gaining his Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering in 2005. He worked for Brevini, India, as a sales engineer with the responsibility for gearboxes and other power transmission products. He moved to the UK in 2007 to study for his MBA, specialising in business to business sales and marketing, at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, cooking and gardening.
According to Renold Gears’ commercial director, Roger Godson, the appointments reflect the company’s commitment to UK customers and the growing demand for its products and services across a wide range of industry sectors.
