Stainless steel pressure sensors provide very fast response time

Stainless steel pressure sensors that provide very fast response times of less than 0.5ms are now available from Impress Sensors & Systems Ltd. The DMP 320 series of pressure sensors represent "high speed and high precision'. With a response time of 0.5ms and a sampling rate of 10kHz, the sensors are suitable for a wide range of high-precision, high-speed pressure measurement applications in a variety of industry sectors, including energy, utilities, water and waste water, power generation, chemicals and petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, oil & gas, and general process manufacturing. Typical operating media are oil, gases, fuels and water.

Sam Drury, Sales & Marketing Director at Impress Sensors & Systems comments: "The DMP 320 series are high-performance sensors designed specifically for high-speed pressure measurement tasks. This is made possible by the newly integrated digital electronics for high-speed signal processing, which enables the sensors to achieve response times down to 0.5 milliseconds. In addition, sensor-specific deviations due to hysteresis, non-linearity and thermal errors are automatically compensated for, enabling users to monitor and evaluate pressure curves and peaks with high accuracy."

Nominal pressure ranges are from 0"100mbar up to 0"600bar. Accuracy is 0.1 per cent FSO to IEC 60770 and so includes all setting errors, making this a high-accuracy level-measuring instrument. The sensor provides excellent long-term stability and a high level of electrical protection (emission and immunity according to EN 61326) to prevent damage once the unit is installed in the field. Output signals are 3-wire, 4"20mA or 3-wire 0.1"10V, with others available on request.
