The contracts were signed in June: Krones AG is to modernize its CAE landscape and use the Eplan Platform solutions across the board. The order covers 140 licences and extensive consultancy services.
Eplan has sealed a significant new contract: Krones AG, market leader in the manufacture of drinks filling and packaging systems, is migrating all the CAE systems it uses worldwide to Eplan, which means replacing the previous solution across 140 workstations. Eplan Electric P8, Eplan Fluid, Eplan Pro Panel and the new EEC One will be implemented gradually by means of a comprehensive, collectively developed consulting programme. With increased consistency, more in-depth integration into production and further automation, Krones is defining a clear path for the future.
Interdepartmental engineering cooperation and the use of configurators to increase automation were key factors in the decision that lead to choosing Eplan. In the future, users at various sites will process their electrical and fluid engineering using the Eplan Platform. The entire value added chain, from initial planning in SAP to automated enclosure production, will be covered. A multi-stage concept incorporating SAP, electrical and fluid engineering and the integration of enclosure production was agreed when the contract was signed.
Maximilian Brandl, Chairman of the Executive Board of Eplan, is glad with the decision on strategic principles. "Our consulting team is in the starting blocks ready to press ahead with the rapid implementation."
An in-house evaluation phase lasting several months at Krones considered the requirements and targets for the engineering processes - the positive results led to the go-ahead for a complete reorientation of the CAE environment:
- Clear improvement in efficiency in engineering
- Maximising potential across the entire value added chain
- Standard software as a modern, flexible, open system
- Introduction of consistent, interdisciplinary engineering
- In-depth integration thanks to professional SAP connection
- Extension and further development of configuration in engineering
- Automation of processes by means of document generation
