Dext Heat Recovery has designed and produced a revolutionary system to recycle and reuse the waste heat produced by food manufacturing businesses.
The high-performance, low-maintenance DexThermic unit sits in the extract duct and recoups waste heat that would otherwise simply be expelled into the atmosphere, redirecting it back into the business to be reused for heating and hot water.
This effectively allows businesses to pay for heat once and benefit repeatedly, while also reducing carbon emissions.
Technical Director Dr Gareth Evans explains: "The DexThermic is already widely used in the restaurant and hospitality sector as it was designed in collaboration with Nando's UK. In restaurant settings it would usually work in conjunction with an air source heat pump, but in high temperature extract environments such as industrial bakeries, it is likely to be doubly effective; already 'harvesting' the temperatures required for practical reuse."
