Visitors attending any of the workshops will be able to collect CPD points that will count towards their ongoing professional development, simply by scanning the QR code associated with each presentation.

The workshop programme at FoodManufacturing.Live accompanies a packed exhibition floor, and features presentations from PLUS Automation, Jenton Group, Powerstar, SKF, PurpleSector, Tedom, Brownlow Utilities and the MTC, as well as a Gambica-hosted panel session.

Kicking off the morning sessions is Mark Weymouth, managing director of PLUS Automation, who will be looking at how unique sensing solutions can help food and beverage manufacturers save money and reduce waste.

He'll be followed by Dr Russell Sion, director at the Jenton Group, who will explore how manufacturers can minimise recalls, prevent brand damage and reduce food waste. The focus will be on packaging and labelling, and will discuss solutions to verification problems.

The mid-morning slot is presented by James Hampshire, principal engineer at Powerstar. The workshop will demonstrate how manufacturers can cut their energy costs with modern power technologies, such as voltage optimisation, advanced transformers and behind-the-meter Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

The next workshop is presented by John Casey, regional sales manager at SKF, who will look at the importance of proactive food safety programmes. He will highlights how today's cutting-edge solutions are designed to enhance food safety, improve efficiency and reduce maintenance costs in food processing environments.

Rounding off the morning sessions, Mark Ireland, manufacturing sector director at PurpleSector, will look at how Formula 1 techniques are solving complex food and beverage manufacturing challenges, with race-inspired sensors and analytics are generating the insights manufacturers need to spearhead process improvements. You'll learn how to build, scale and embed solutions that accelerate change and drive results.

The first workshop of the afternoon is a panel session hosted by Nikesh Mistry, sector head for industrial automation at Gambica. The panel brings together industry leaders and innovators to explore how real-world manufacturing environments are driving practical innovation to stay competitive and adaptable. The discussion will delve into actionable strategies for building resilient operations, from supply chain agility and digital transformation to workforce development and collaborative partnerships.

Next up, Paul Hamblyn, director, and Phill Greenbury, project manager at TEDOM, will present a case study, highlighting how Aston Manor Cider's Tiverton site undertook a pioneering heat decarbonisation project, replacing inefficient kerosene boilers with a hydrogen-ready TEDOM CHP plant. This initiative demonstrates how engineering innovation can drive rapid, cost-effective decarbonisation in food manufacturing.

Paul and Phil are followed by Lee J McGhie, managing director of Brownlow Utilities, who will discuss how sustainability has surpassed being accountable for your own business operations, and now must include the wider supply chain. During the presentation visitors will learn about the sustainability evolution and how to stay ahead of their competition, win new contracts with the big players and reduce energy/costs - all at the same time!

Rounding off the day's sessions, Dr Bhavnita Patel, business development manager at The MTC will discuss how automation, robotics and digitalisation are reshaping food manufacturing, unlocking efficiency, improving quality and reducing waste. She will explore why companies must adopt these technologies now, despite barriers like cost and legacy systems.

Because each presenter is at the leading edge of developments in their sector, visitors attending these sessions have the opportunity to capture a useful edge on their competitors.

The free-to-attend workshop programme has proven extremely popular in recent years, and spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended. You can register to attend FoodManufacturing.Live and book your workshop sessions here.
