B&R announces the opening of its Northern Office

In answer to increasing levels of business in the North of England and Scotland, B&R are pleased to announce the opening of new offices in Manchester. Managed by Andrew Norcliffe, the office already employs three application engineers including a dedicated B&R Technology Trainer.

ERIKS launches new marine capability

ERIKS UK is launching a new marine capability offering a comprehensive service of component supply, repair and replacement of equipment and parts for all types of vessels and port facilities. ERIKS Marine will provide a repair and replacement parts service from the stem to stern on a vessel, including thrusters and deck cranes through to control panels, bearings, pumps, hydraulics, deck machinery, generators, alternators and winches.

Report says hygienic and energy-efficient pumps will be popular

The rapid expansion of the food and beverage and pharmaceutical industries in Europe is fuelling the demand for hygienic, high-quality positive displacement pumps. Peristaltic pumps are of particular interest to such industries, which produce products for consumption. These pumps minimise contamination and resist corrosion by ensuring that the fluid flows through flexible tubes or hoses that are placed within pump housing. Thus, market participants will do well to focus on the peristaltic pump segment and complement it with strategic after-market services to maintain a strong position in Europe.

Building a new industry from what we do best...

What is the one thing we do better probably than any other country in the world? I suppose building cars would be up there. And our pharmaceuticals and high tech industries are pretty good, too. When I look at some of the activities in plastics and new materials such as graphene, I can see the UK leading the way. Those of a controversial bent might throw banking into the mix. Most recently, many of the biggest movies in the business have been made in the UK.
