New orientation, singulation and product separation system

UPM is showing a number of innovative conveyor systems at this year's Processing and Packaging Machinery Association (PPMA) exhibition at the NEC, Birmingham from 30 September to 2 October 2014. Chief among these will be a new orientation, singulation and product handling separation system. The company will also demonstrate a number of stainless steel and high molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE) conveyors. The UPM systems on show will include gravity rollers and accumulation tables that also display features such as static elimination and product cooling.

It is the latest acquisition from the company's growing Software business and deepens its presence in the power and energy market. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2014, subject to customary regulatory and other closing conditions.

The clock has begun ticking towards December 2015. That is the date by which all UK companies with 250 or more employees, or annual turnover in excess of £42m, must have completed a comprehensive audit of their energy use.
