Bauer Gear Motor hosts energy efficiency technology forum

Electric motors are estimated to consume 70 per cent of all the energy used in industry. Bearing this in mind, it is no small wonder that there is an ongoing process of legislation requiring new technologies to adhere to ever higher standards of efficiency. Bauer Gear Motor offers a wide range of energy efficient options that meet current IE2, and future IE3 and IE4, regulations; it recently hosted a technology forum to help its customers understand developments in the industry and discuss the best practices for maximising energy efficiency in the drive train.

UK manufacturing events set to take centre stage in 2016

The biennial co-located events Drives & Controls, Plant and Asset Management, European Offshore Energy, Fluid Power & Systems, and Air-Tech Exhibitions are once again set to return to Birmingham's NEC (Halls 3/3A) from 12-14 April 2016, alongside MACH 2016. The 2014 co-location of events were highly praised by exhibitors and trade bodies alike, with an official attendance figure of 12,793. This was an increase of nearly 15 per cent on 2012 and amounted to a notably exceptional figure for a UK-based B2B exhibition.

Review: food and beverage machinery safety seminar

On 5 November 2015 Pilz hosted a machinery safety seminar focusing on the needs of the food and beverage industry. This was attended by over 40 engineers and managers from machine builders, system integrators, panel builders and end users across the UK. Be absolutely sure you get your point across

Consumer concern over what may or may not be in a chicken McNugget tends to wax and wane, seemingly dependent on what sensationalist headlines appear in the media in a given week. You’ll frequently see McDonalds step up to the plate to emphasise the quality of the ingredients it uses, hoping to put a fork in the debate and call it done. So for any given less than complimentary claim, you’ll see an emphatic statement from McDonalds to set the record straight. To that end, though, I have an issue with the company’s latest advertising output.

Mitsubishi Electric awarded new Framework Agreement

A new Framework Agreement for automation products between South East Water and Mitsubishi Electric has been agreed for 4 years with an option to extend for a further 2 years. The framework agreement covers the supply of PLCs, HMIs, VSDs and associated equipment, as well as support, training, extended warranties, software updates and bespoke 24/7 support.
